Is giving back to the community a big waste of money and time?
We believe not.
Dr Fenderson, who has published a book recently and who has also become a bestselling author, shares his experience of having involved in altruism for 40 years:
Anyone who has the propensity for altruism should put it into action as soon as possible.
There’s something many people don’t realize until they participate in giving.
It’s that the giver benefits in many ways as well.
I’ve experienced, and have seen with others, that altruistic actions generate not only happiness for the giver but also emotional and physical well-being.
I believe much of our happiness in life results from interacting with others. Volunteerism increases our ability to experience contentment and pleasure on an ongoing basis. I have been dong international humanitarian dental missions for over 44 years.
Doctor Relations and Helmut Flasch with his team have helped me channel that love for altruism into the local community which in turn made me famous in my hometown.
This, of course, returns a financial reward due to the increase in new patient flow.
Doctor Relations also encouraged me to author a book entitled “It’s All About Smiles—Passions From a Dentist on Health, Healing and Happiness” which happens to have a chapter on altruism in it.
To my delight, this book also became a bestseller on Barnes and Noble and became the #1 bestselling dental book.
